2 x White Sancerre 2 x White Touraine 2 x Red Chinon 2 x Red Bourgueil 2 x Red St Nicolas de Bourgueil
Loire Valley Touraine (White)
2002 Château de l’Aulée;
Cuvée Jeanne d'Arc;
Chenin/Chardonnay;
13%;
This dry wine is a blend of the powerful flavours of Chardonnay and the elegance of Chenin Blanc. Lightly oaked it has aromas of melon and apricot. Match with veal and chicken dishes in mushroom sauce as well as with the local goat's cheese, St Maure de Touraine.
Loire Valley Bourgueil (Red)
2004 Domaine des Geslets;
Cabernet Franc;
12%
Ripe fruits with a hint of pepper on the nose. A red which can accompany white meats as well as charcuterie and cheese.
Loire Valley St Nicolas de Bourgueil (Red)
2005 Domaine des Geslets;
Cabernet Franc;
12%
Good deep colour, full of ripe red fruits. Pleasant to drink now but will improve with ageing. Good body for a Loire Valley red and will therefore match well with red meat.
